The Last One: Reasons Why I Cut My Hair Short

This is definitely not my last blog post but this is the last post with pictures of my long hair. Well, yes, I finally decided to cut it. It took me almost 2 and half years to grow that length. I've thought of it for weeks! And there's no reason to feel regrets because I donated my hair for a fund-raising activity for cancer patients. I've got 3 reasons why I decided and what convinced me to give it up (since 95% of the people who know me asked why, read this).

1. Beauty doesn't depend on hairs on your head. Admit it, every girl in the world is concerned with their hair whether it is long or short. We can't even go out without having it styled or combed properly (unless you're late for a 7:30 AM class). Whenever I take a bath, I pull my hair back until nothing can be seen but my face. I want to feel beautiful without it. Yes, sometimes I've thought of shaving it and see if people will still like me. Not that people only like my hair, but I feel like people tend to see more of it and thinks that it what makes you beautiful. Well, I've read a fact that people always like girls with long hair better than girls with short hair. I wanted to take the risk of feeling beautiful with or without a long hair.

2. Changes are vital and being different is good. Before I really made up my mind, I walked through malls and almost most of the girls I saw had their hair long. Like, only 2% of them wear it short. Sometimes, I wanted to be distinguished and different not because of the attention I will get but because it will define me. It's me, whether I have a long hair or a short one. I feel like these kind of changes are sometimes vital for me, I love seeing people get surprised because of these major changes. It took me a great amount of courage to let go and have these changes.

3. It's a fresh start for me. Don't be mistaken, I'm not on a break-up period and my heart is still intact. But yes, I'm moving on. There are some personal issues that I realized and I really need to change, for the better. I wanted to have a fresh start and clean plate before heading out again. There are the things that happened in my life that even though I've moved on, I can never forget it because I learned a lot from those instances and mistakes.

And that's it! I think it may take a long while before seeing me with these locks of hair again, but until then, I'm going to enjoy styling my new one. Tips to anyone out there who wanted to take the risk too, sleep on it! And if you woke up, still wanting to have these changes, do it.

xx,

maiko
